Enhanced Skin Rejuvenation with the Gemini Laser:

This gentle laser treatment for wrinkles and sun damage involves no downtime and is appropriate for the face, chest, neck and hands. The laser helps to correct irregularities to the pigment of the skin from sun damage and encourages new collagen to grow to smooth facial wrinkles. The Gemini Laser is safe for most skin types and colors. Additionally, this has been shown to be the most effective and up-to-date laser for Skin Rejuvenation.

Before treatment a mild, topical anesthetic is applied. This step is not required, but suggested to make the treatment more comfortable. During treatment a cool gel is applied to the treatment area and the laser is placed on the skin. When the laser is applied the skin will feel a warm pulse. Most patients report minimal discomfort. Post-treatment we recommend patients wear sun block daily. Make-up can be used immediately after treatment and normal activities may be resumed. Patients may experience slight redness or swelling for a few hours. Occasionally the side effects may last a few days.

Expect the treatment to take about 30 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated. The number of treatments necessary depends on the patient. Most will require 3 to 8 treatments. Wrinkle improvement is a gradual effect as the laser encourages collagen growth. Most patients notice improvement near their third treatments (nine to twelve weeks after the first treatment).
