Photorejuvenation

Photorejuvenation

Photorejuvenation helps to renew and refresh the appearance of your skin including more uniform color and softer supple skin by treating photo damage and other blemishes related to aging and active lifestyles. Our cutting-edge devices easily and gently remove fine blood vessels causing redness and melanin causing irregular pigmentation with minimal downtime and pain. Other irregular formations like port wine stains and venous lakes are also highly effectively treated. Popular treatment areas are the face, neck, hands, chest and shoulders.

What to Expect

Results of your Photorejuvenation treatments including healthier, smoother and more vibrant skin should be noticeable around the time of your third treatment and will gradually improve over time. You will enjoy reduced redness, more consistent skin coloration including eliminated brown spots and other irregular pigmentation, smaller pores and overall improved skin texture.

Hotchandani Laser, Vein and Cosmetic Surgeries Patient Comments

I have experienced smaller pores and a lifting around my eye area and chin, and a softer all over look after having ProFractional and MicroLaserPeel.

I am very pleased with the results I experienced having my facial [Photorejuvenation] treatments done; some here (Iron Mountain) and one in Appleton. My skin is smoother and brighter. My dark spots are unnoticeable now.

  • Thanks, C.E.

It has been two months now since I received the Portrait PSR treatment and I see more improvement in my skin as each week passes. My skin looks and feels like it did years ago; more results than I was expecting. Following the instructions afterwards made the recovery more complete and results sooner than I was expecting also.

The Photorejuvenation treatment, performed by Dr. Hotchandani, resulted in a terrific outcome, effectively erasing years from the appearance of my hands.

How Does it Work?

Photorejuvenation will remodel the skin's architecture, target irregular pigmentation or make room for new healthy cells to restore normal dermal functionality, which results in a fresh, more youthful appearance.

To get technical, a Photorejuvenation procedure consists of a laser or light source delivering energy to various chromophores (colored bodies)  like melanin, blood with or without oxygen, or water at varying skin depths. Depending on the device used and delivery settings, chromophore targeting may:

  • stimulate collagen regeneration and remodeling of skin proteins

  • collapse unsightly veins causing redness

  • target pigmented lesions such as age spots and solar lentigo

  • ablate, or remove, 10 to 50 microns of the outer layers of the skin

  • Portrait® PSR

Patient Experience

A Photorejuvenation procedure usually takes less than 30 minutes. The pulses of energy are relatively painless, and any slight discomfort usually subsides within seconds. Depending on your skin type and current degree of skin health, three to eight treatments spaced three to four weeks apart may be recommended for best results. Redness immediately after the procedure usually fades within hours.

What are the characteristics of a good candidate for Photorejuvenation?

If you are concerned about red or brown spots, skin texture, pore size, or fine lines, you are probably a good candidate for Photorejuvenation. Nearly everyone is a candidate as everyone spends time in the sun and undergoes the natural aging process. Dramatic results can be achieved on a wide variety of skin types. Due to a high affinity to melanin that also exists in dark skin, laser treatments may not be advisable on darker skin types.

Is Photorejuvenation safe?

All of the Photorejuvenation procedures offered at Hotchandani Laser & Vein Centers have demonstrated excellent safety profiles in clinical trials. The most common side effects involve redness, swelling, and rarely pigmentation changes but clients usually experience complete correction back to normal in due time.

Are Photorejuvenation treatments painful?

Most patients feel minimal discomfort during the procedure itself. Pulses feel like a tingling sensation or pinch, and a topical anesthetic is made available for those with a low threshold for pain. Post-procedure discomfort may feel like sunburn, and may be remedied with over-the-counter pain medication as recommended by Dr. Hotchandani.

What is the recovery time I should expect?

If you have a Gemini® or Profile™ BBL treatment you will be able to resume normal activities immediately, MicroLaserPeel™ healing takes up to three or four days, Aurora® requires minimal recovery time, and Portrait® PSR requires two to five days. Immediately following treatment, the skin is normally slightly red for a few hours and could be swollen for up to 48 hours.

How can I improve and maintain results?

Following your scheduled treatment regimen, it may be recommended to do maintenance treatments periodically. Longevity of results will improve if you take care to use sunscreen when in the sun, avoid tanning beds, and minimize other activities like smoking that will damage your skin.
