How Does it Work?

The SkinTyte™ system is used to deliver a series of rapid, gentle pulses of a broadband infrared light energy to deeply heat the dermis. This causes a partial denaturation and contraction of collagen and prompts the body’s natural healing response to generate a renewed collagen foundation. An integral thermo-electric cooler maintains a comfortable temperature for the epidermis during and after treatment.

The Thermage™ system delivers radiofrequency (RF) energy that heats collagen fibers deep inside the skin and underlying tissue, reshaping your skin's innermost structures. A cooling cryogen spray protects the skin's surface enabling a comfortable treatment session.

Patient Experience

SkinTyte™ procedures for the face and neck are typically completed within 30 minutes. Treatment regimens may require three to five treatments spaced three to five weeks apart. Similarly, Thermage™ procedures take as little as 20 minutes to two hours to complete. You will feel a brief, heat sensation when pulses of energy are delivered, but clients typically do not request a topical anesthetic though one is made available.

You may return to normal activities immediately after skin tightening treatment sessions, and any slight redness or minor swelling should dissipate within a day or two.

What are the characteristics of a good candidate for skin tightening?

Those seeking tighter, firmer, and more youthful looking skin who do not want to undergo surgery are good candidates for non-invasive skin tightening procedures. SkinTyte™ and Thermage™ are not perfect substitutes for facelifts or other cosmetic surgeries, but can provide moderate, noticeable improvement in saggy or loose skin without the downtime.

Is treatment painful?

Most patients find skin tightening comfortable, and most clients undergo treatment without the aid of a topical anesthetic. If your pain threshold is very low, a topical anesthetic will be applied before the procedure for added comfort.

What is the recovery time I should expect?

You may resume normal activities right away – there is no downtime. Mild redness on the treated area should return to normal within minutes for SkinTyte™, and redness dissipates within one to two days for Thermage™.

How can I improve and maintain results?

Is skin tightening treatment safe?

Treatment is safe and effective for all skin types and colors. There have been no reported short or long-term side effects with the SkinTyte™ and incidence of side effects is less than 0.4% with the Thermage™.
