Evolysse™ Smooth is a dermal filler with a hyaluronic acid base, a naturally occurring molecule aimed at improving hydration and volume.
Most fillers use high heat and strong alkaline conditions to bond the hyaluronic acid, but Evolysse™ Smooth does so at a near-freezing temperature. The process is called Cold-X™ crosslinking, and it preserves the molecules enough to create a softer, more elastic gel.
The technology used in Evolysse™ is a breakthrough because, even in a controlled process, the heat used in traditional fillers can lead to molecule fragmentation. Most fillers also utilize a significant number of crosslinking agents (namely, BDDE) to stabilize the formula and achieve the desired gel properties.
Evolysse™ does not use heat, which protects the molecular chains. This allows the filler to last longer than your traditional injectable. Less BDDE is used to create the formula, resulting in a product with a higher purity level.
