What to Expect
Results of your filler treatment will be evident immediately and last at least six months and could last much longer depending on which fillers you select. Juvederm® Voluma XC and Sculptra last for about two years. Juvéderm® Ultra Plus XC & Juvederm® Volbella lasts for about a year. Filled lines and folds will return back to their pretreated appearance as filler materials themselves break down and additional aging occurs. Some filler effect lasts longer than the filler itself as you create your own collagen around the filler substance.
Hotchandani Laser, Vein, and Cosmetic Surgeries Patient Comments
I really recommend Dr. Hotchandani to anybody who is thinking about having fillers and Botox. He truly is awesome :) Once again, I am happy! Thanks so much
Dr. Hotchandani and staff gave my life back to me. I feel beautiful not only on the outside, but also beautiful on the inside too. My self-esteem is now 100% and I am sooo excited to enjoy every day as my new person. I catch my husband looking at me with a twinkle in his eye. Now, does it get any better than that! My procedures included Botox, Thermage, and Radiesse. Believe me, their procedure and professionalism were worth every penny. How does one put a dollar sign on how one looks and feels. I took a chance. I’m grateful for a new beginning!
How Does it Work?
The procedure consists of one or more injectable gels being gently eased into the dermis near the subcutaneous layer via injections that then support the space between collagen and elastin fibers. The amount of gel injected and careful selection of which types of fillers are used will help get the results you desire. Each brand of filler is based on a unique natural or synthetic composition, which the experts at Hotchandani Laser, Vein and Cosmetic Surgery would be happy to discuss in detail during a complimentary no-obligation private consultation.
Fillers options offered at Hotchandani Laser, Vein, and Cosmetic Surgery:
- Juvéderm® Ultra Plus XC – smooth gel made of hyaluronic acid, which naturally occurs in the human body
- Juvéderm Voluma XC ™ – With age, cheeks lose volume, which can give your face a sunken look. Juvederm Voluma™ XC is the first and only FDA-approved filler used to correct this problem. The results are instant, providing a smooth-natural looking appearance. Results are clinically proven to last up to 2 years.
- Perlane-L® – is a clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid that is specifically formulated to act like your bodies own hyaluronic acid, adding volume and fullness to the skin.
- Restylane-L® – used to add volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds). By combining lidocaine with Restylane, Restylane-L can help reduce discomfort during and after treatment.
- Restylane® Silk – designed specifically for lips and the lines around them. It’s the first and only FDA-approved product specifically designed for subtle lip enhancement and the smoothing of wrinkles and lines around the mouth in patients over 21 years of age.
- Radiesse® – calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres, which also generates collagen formation
- Sculptra™ – poly-L-lactic acid gel (PLLA) FDA cleared for treatment of lipoatrophy, or facial fat loss and cosmetic treatment
- Belotero® – a hyaluronic acid filler similar to Juvéderm® Ultra Plus XC & Restylane. Hylauronic acid is normally found throughout your body giving Belotero® a higher safety profile. We at Hotchandani Laser, Vein and Cosmetic Surgery use Belotero® for fine lines to avoid lumpiness and tyndall effect (blue-ish skin discoloration).
Dermal filler procedures usually take less than 30 minutes. The injections are relatively painless and can be compared to receiving a tetanus shot or donating blood, and any slight discomfort usually subsides within seconds. Sensitivity and feeling in treatment areas are completely retained, and any minor swelling from the injections typically disappears within 24 hours. Most clients are able to return to normal activities immediately after the procedure.
Are dermal fillers safe?
In years of rigorous clinical testing and use by millions of patients worldwide, dermal fillers have been proven to be safe and effective. We will also ask you a series of questions to determine if fillers will work for you.
Are dermal filler injections painful?
Most patients feel minimal discomfort during the procedure itself. We minimize discomfort by using cold spray and adding lidocaine with the products if they don’t include lidocaine already.
What is the recovery time I should expect?
You may resume all normal activities immediately, though patients should refrain from strenuous exercise for a day. Any minor swelling from the injections typically disappears within 24 hours and some patients experience dramatic reduction of swelling within hours.
What if I am taking medication?
Please inform us if you use blood thinners, ibuprofen, aspirin or herbal preparations and other medications prior to your procedure. You may need to discontinue certain other nutritional supplements a few days prior to treatment.
Do dermal filler injections leave scars?
No. However, if you are prone to thick hypertrophic scarring formation or excessive keloid scarring, you may not be a good candidate for treatment with dermal fillers.
