What is submental fullnes?
Submental fullness, sometimes referred to as “double chin,” is a common yet under treated facial aesthetic condition that can impact a broad range of adults, including both women and men. Causes include: aging (may naturally develop as you age), genetics (simply said, it may be part of your DNA), lastly, weight gain. Sometimes, no matter how much you diet or exercise, the condition may not go away, and can make you look older and heavier than you actually are.
What is Kybella™?
Kybella™ is the first and only FDA-approved nonsurgical treatment that contours and improves the appearance of submental fullnes. It is a nonsurgical, 15-20 minute in-office treatment session customized to help you achieve your treatment goals. Kybella™ destroys the fat cells when injected into the fat beneath your chin. Once the your aesthetic goal is achieved, re-treatment is not expected.

When injected into the fat beneath your chin, Kybella™ causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat.

Lipodissolve is a version of Mesotherapy used to gradually dissolve localized areas of fat deposits on any part of the body (i.e., chin, jowls, abdomen, upper arms, thighs, etc.). Mesotherapy has been performed in Europe since 1952 and consists of a series of injections of a mixture of local anesthesia and a fat emulsifying naturally occurring osteopathic solution.
Our providers use Lipodissolve to dissolve localized fat deposits on any part of the body enabling an improvement of the contour and shape of stubborn problem areas over a treatment regimen of two to eight treatments. While some practitioners use Mesotherapy to treat cellulite, results have not met our expectations so at Hotchandani Laser, Vein and Cosmetic Surgery we use more effective techniques like Exilis™ to treat cellulite.

What to Expect
Results of your Lipodissolve treatments will be significant in anywhere from two to eight treatments. You will enjoy improvement in the contour and shape of the treatment area over time. Lipodissolve should neither be considered a solution for obesity nor a substitute for a healthy lifestyle.
Hotchandani Laser, Vein and Cosmetic Surgery s’ Patient Comments
I went to Dr. Hotchandani to get information on breast augmentation. I got accurate and useful information and decided to have the procedure. I am very happy about the results. I can’t wait for swimsuit season this year. I also had a procedure I had never heard of before called mesotherapy. Dr. Hotchandani injected my chin and cheeks and with only two treatments my profile has changed. I always felt like I had a double chin in pictures. Now I actually like pictures of myself!
In the year and a half that I have been a patient of the Hotchandani Laser and Vein Center, I have experienced satisfaction with all treatments that I have received.

How Does it Work?
The procedure consists of injection of a mixture of a local anesthetic and a naturally occuring osteopathic solution named phosphatidylcholine and sodium deoxycholate (PC/DC), which is a soy byproduct and synthetic bile salt, respectively, into deeper layers of fat. The PC/DC agent causes a chemical reaction whereby fat breaks down, or emulsifies, and is then naturally eliminated from the body.
A lipodissolve procedure takes approximately 5 to 20 minutes, depending upon the treatment area size. Chin and jowls usually require two to three treatments, and up to eight procedures may be recommended to treat larger areas. Visits are spaced two to four weeks apart.
The injections during the procedure are relatively painless, and any subsequent pain from the resulting chemical reaction usually subsides within 48 hours. You may return to normal activities immediately after Lipodissolve procedures; however, you should limit vigorous exercise, spending time in hot tubs and massaging the area for at least 24 hours.
What are the characteristics of a good candidate for lipodissolve?
For both men and women who are unable to get rid of stubborn areas of fat no matter how much you exercise and diet, lipodissolve will help to sculpt those areas to make you look and feel your very best. It is important to set realistic expectations and be in good psychological health.
Is lipodissolve painful?
Most patients feel minimal discomfort during the procedure itself. Injections contain a local anesthetic that minimizes pain. Post-procedure pain resulting from the chemical reaction caused by PC/DC usually subsides within 48 hours and may be remedied with over-the-counter pain medication as recommended.
What is the recovery time I should expect?
Most patients are able to return to work immediately. The area treated may feel like it would after vigorous exercise, resulting in 48 hours of soreness and sometimes significant swelling after the procedure, but you may resume normal activities right away.
Why do some healthcare practitioners take issue with lipodissolve?
The professionals who criticize lipodissolve are usually those who strictly only perform liposuction. At Hotchandani Laser, Vein and Cosmetic Surgery , we choose do what is best for our clients depending on your goals and financial situation as Lipodissolve is a more cost effective option.
Is Lipodissolve safe?
Lipodissolve, which is a version of Mesotherapy, has been used in practice in Europe since Dr. Michel Pistor invented the procedure in 1952. Lipodissolve has been performed globally for over a decade without any major complications.
