CoolSculpting® vs. Emsculpt®

These two state-of-the-art procedures have grown in popularity among those who wish to eliminate stubborn pockets of fat despite regular exercise and a healthy diet. However, though they may seem like they both provide similar outcomes, each treatment offers unique results.

Fit Man and Woman

Two Methods of Eliminating Fat

Both the CoolSculpting® and Emsculpt® procedures do not take long to perform and require little to no downtime. Both treatments can offer a slimmer, more sculpted version of you; however, that’s where the similarities end. Even though results may look the same, the difference lies underneath the skin.

Freeze the Fat

CoolSculpting® uses fat-freezing technology to safely and effectively eliminate fat cells that live under the skin’s surface. Once the cells have died, your body naturally gets rid of the treated fat cells. The results are natural looking and can be seen as soon as three weeks after the initial treatment. CoolSculpting® can target nine specific areas, including love handles, abdomen, thighs, double chin, upper arms, bra fat, back fat, flanks, and banana rolls.

The final results are similar to liposuction, except that since this procedure is non-invasive, you won’t have to deal with anesthesia, scars, or a recovery period. It’s so easy that patients sometimes return to work after their appointment!

Burn the Fat

Emsculpt® is unique in that it’s the only procedure that targets the muscle tone, an area that is otherwise ignored by other treatments. Since Emsculpt® is designed to strengthen the body’s core, patients not only build muscle, but they also experience fat reduction as well.

Emsculpt® is designed for those who don’t just want to reduce fat but instead gain muscle and add lift to their buttocks. This is done using HIFEM® technology, a process in which a powerful magnetic field penetrates through the skin and delivers 20,000 muscular contractions in about 30 minutes. This causes the fat cells to undergo a rapid metabolic reaction, resulting in fat loss and increased muscle tone.

Treatments last around 30 minutes, with a minimum of 4 sessions about 2 to 3 days apart. The procedure is non-invasive and does not require any downtime.

Which One Is Right for Me?

Before you begin any treatment, you will have to first schedule your initial consultation. During this time, you and your doctor will go over your aesthetic goals and your medical history. You may want one procedure, but you might experience greater results with a different approach. It is important to note that patients see optimal results when they continue their exercise regimen and maintain a healthy diet.
