Minimal Correction

If you have smaller areas of fat that you wish to eliminate, a non-surgical treatment may be the best choice.

KYBELLA®

If your only concern is a double chin, KYBELLA® may suit your needs. This injectable treatment is FDA-approved to permanently remove fat from underneath the chin using deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a substance produced by the body that helps burn dietary fat. During each treatment session, several injections are made under the chin. Most patients require between two and six sessions spaced one month apart. You may see initial results after one session, but multiple treatments are usually necessary for optimal results.

CoolSculpting®

Stubborn bulges on areas like the upper arms, love handles, belly, or inner thighs can be frustrating. CoolSculpting® helps rid you of annoying fat rolls permanently and without downtime. Controlled cooling technology freezes fat cells without affecting skin or other tissues. This process leads to the permanent reduction of fat in the target areas.

truSculpt® 3D and truSculpt® iD

truSculpt® 3D and truSculpt® iD are devices made by CUTERA® that use radiofrequency (RF) energy to sculpt areas of the body that are difficult to target, such as the upper arms, abdomen, and flanks. The RF energy causes a thermal reaction that helps eliminate stubborn fat cells. truSculpt® 3D includes two different handpieces for comprehensive, tailored body sculpting. truSculpt® iD includes these handpieces as well as a hands-free applicator that can be used for larger areas. The truSculpt® treatment is non-invasive and is said to feel similar to a hot stone massage. The procedure time varies depending on the area of body being treated and has no downtime.

EMSCULPT®

EMSCULPT® is used to tone muscles in the abdomen and buttocks. The device uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM®) technology to trigger involuntary muscle contractions in the target areas. These contractions are stronger than you can achieve with traditional exercise. The underlying muscles become stronger and more tones, lifting the buttocks and flattening the abdomen with no downtime. Most patients require a minimum of four 30-minute treatments spaced two to three days apart.

Surgical Solutions

If you have larger fat deposits or loose skin, you may want to consider a surgical approach to body contouring.

Liposuction

Liposuction can be performed to permanently remove fat from almost any area of the body. The surgery can be done using local, twilight, or general anesthesia, depending on your needs and preferences. Tiny incisions are made, and fatty deposits are removed with a thin suctioning tube (cannula). Liposuction does require some downtime but is the most popular surgical fat removal technique.

Sometimes loose skin may be left after liposuction. In these cases, Dr. Hotchandani can use ReNUplasty® to help tighten skin while also removing fat. This technique combines VASERlipo® (ultrasound-assisted liposuction) and Renuvion™, which uses radiofrequency energy to tighten skin.

A tummy tuck surgically removes excess fat and skin as well as repairing separated abdominal muscles. The operation is performed under general anesthesia and requires a few weeks or recovery time, but it also provides the most comprehensive body contouring results.
